Custom Cabinetry

Built for your space.
Built for your hand.

Catalog cabinetry will fit. Custom cabinetry will belong. Designed around your dishes, your reach, your sightlines, the way light hits the room — and built to outlast the trends that drove the design in the first place.

What custom actually means.

Most cabinetry sold as "custom" is actually semi-custom — a stock cabinet box with a custom door front. The interior dimensions, drawer configurations, and hardware options are still constrained by what the catalog offers. That's fine for many projects. But for the spaces you'll use a hundred times a day, the constraints add up.

Real custom means we build the box to fit the wall, the drawer to fit your largest pan, the spice pull-out to fit your collection, and the toe kick to match your floor transition exactly. Two generations of building cabinetry in Marin homes has taught us where the small details compound — into a kitchen that feels effortless every morning for the next twenty years.

What we build.

Kitchen cabinetry

Full-height pantries, drawer banks, integrated appliance panels, mixed-material island fronts.

Bath vanities

Wall-hung or furniture-style. Integrated drawer outlets. Stone-top coordinated to fixture finish.

Libraries & home offices

Wall-to-wall built-ins, integrated lighting, hidden tech storage, ladder rails for tall walls.

Walk-in closets

Drawer banks, hanging rods at the right heights, shoe storage, jewelry drawers, island in larger primaries.

Mudrooms & entries

Bench, lockers, hooks, drop zone, dog station — designed around how the family actually comes home.

Entertainment built-ins

TV walls with integrated speakers, lift mechanisms, tech ventilation, hidden component storage.

Garage & utility

Heavy-duty drawer banks, tool walls, sports gear systems — built like the rest of the house.

Door styles

Shaker, inset, flush, slab, glass, beadboard, custom profile. Painted, stained, or natural finish.

Hardware & accessories

Pulls and knobs from premium suppliers; soft-close drawers; pull-outs, dividers, lazy susans.

Custom cabinetry FAQ.

What's the difference between custom cabinetry and 'semi-custom'? +
Semi-custom uses pre-built boxes from a catalog with custom door fronts. Real custom is designed and built for your exact space — door styles, drawer configurations, interior accessories, finish colors, hardware all chosen for the room and the way you'll use it. The price difference is real but so is the difference in fit and longevity.
How long does custom cabinetry take? +
Design and shop drawings: 3-5 weeks. Build: 6-10 weeks depending on complexity and finish. Install: 1-2 weeks. We coordinate with the broader project schedule so cabinetry isn't the long pole that holds everything else up.
What woods and finishes do you work with? +
Walnut, white oak, rift-cut oak, maple, cherry, mahogany, alder. Painted in any color — Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball, custom-matched. Mixed-material is increasingly popular: painted lowers, stained uppers, or vice versa. We'll bring physical samples on the design walk-through.
Can you replicate a piece I saw online? +
Yes — give us the reference image and we'll detail it for your space. Most internet inspiration is achievable; some is staged photography of pieces that wouldn't actually function. We'll be honest about which is which.
Do you do walk-in closets and built-ins, or just kitchens? +
We do all of them. Kitchens, baths, libraries and home offices, mudrooms, primary closets, garage storage, custom entertainment built-ins. Anything with a wood box and a hinge or drawer slide, we build it.
